Cedar Point Federal Credit Union (CPFCU) is organized to serve people who live, work, worship, go to school and do business in St. Mary’s, Calvert, and Charles counties. As a community-based financial institution owned and operated by our members, our purpose is to provide financial advice and a competitively priced complete line of financial products and services, while at the same time maintaining/building an adequate capital base. CPFCU will continually play a leadership role in the communities it serves by providing high-quality personal service in a friendly environment.

 Cedar Point Federal Credit Union was organized in August 1945 for the purpose of “promoting thrift among its members and to provide a source of low-cost credit.” We are a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, committed to actively serving our members and our community. We aim to treat all of our members, our staff, and our neighbors with respect and dignity and always try to offer honest, fair rates to every member, every time. We deliver a range of products to our members and potential members that reflect their various needs and diversity and strive to better reach those members of our community who may be underserved. We endeavor always to demonstrate the value of being a member of Cedar Point Federal Credit Union. 

We work to communicate the unique role of member-owned financial cooperatives to our members, our legislators, and our community so they can understand the benefits of credit union membership. We endeavor to help every member achieve financial self-sufficiency and success by educating our members on the value of saving, and of good credit.

Cedar Point Federal Credit Union is operated in compliance with the laws and regulations that govern the credit union movement and with our mission statement.

Meet our Board of Directors

Our Board consists of nine directors who each hold three-year terms. All of our directors are members who volunteer their time once a month to serve the credit union.  Additionally, a liaison from PAX River Naval Air Station sits on the board in an advisory capacity. Cedar Point Federal Credit Union strives to offer services that meet the financial needs of every member and to return the profits from those services to our member-owners in the form of higher dividends and lower rates. We endeavor to offer these services with low or no fees wherever possible.

Education

 Cedar Point is committed to actively advocating the credit union difference at all levels of government and in other appropriate public forums. We participate in various local, state, and national cooperative activities. We will work to build and strengthen the credit union movement by providing support and encouragement to others within the movement.

Cedar Point Federal Credit Union is committed to the democratic principles that are the basis of the credit union movement. We encourage the involvement and participation of all our members.

Our Board of Directors is made up of member volunteers who have been nominated by our members and duly elected during our Annual Meeting. This meeting takes place in a Southern Maryland venue so that all our members can participate. An open discussion at the annual meeting gives our members an opportunity to voice their interests and their concerns.
